ATHENS, March 11, 2015 – Thirty years presence is completed this year by 520 Barcode Hellas, the first company to introduce the barcode system in Greece. Since 1985 - as ELKESIP then - and to this day creates and issues the unique codes barcode numbers prefixed with 520. Offering for three decades in Greek companies the identity of the products and the their passport to exports.
In this long presence, 520 Barcode Hellas was developed reaching 5000 businesses - customers, out of 75 he had first year of operation, while from a simple code provider, has now established itself as a valuable partner where supports and offers high standard services. The company started as a password manager 30 years ago and today it has succeeded to create applications, develop specifications and deliver specialized solutions and modern technologies.
All these years, along with the history of the company the story of barcode also developed. From using it only in products that were intended for export are now even used in the Greek pavilion. From barcode on the product, we got to RFID. From barcode only available to businesses, now on disposition of consumers using smartphones thanks to applications such as i520 & Qrcode. Since the initial use of barcode only in retail, now it is essential in Health, Transportation and the Logistics.
H development in barcode is inextricably linked to it as well retail progress. From the era of neighborhood supers markets we have moved into the era of thousands of square meters of superstores.
